Each BOKETTO piece is made by hand — nursery mobiles and art prints designed to bring wonder, colour, and a maker's touch to the rooms where children grow.
Each piece is made to order by Joanna in Philadelphia. No two are identical.
Hi, I'm Joanna — and BOKETTO started the way most good things do, out of necessity and obsession. When I couldn't find nursery decor that felt genuinely handmade and full of colour, I started making it myself.
BOKETTO comes from the Japanese word for the act of gazing into the distance without thinking about anything in particular. It's the kind of quiet wonder I hope every child gets to feel in their own space. Every mobile I hang and every print I frame is made to earn that gaze.
Everything is made by hand, one at a time, in my Philadelphia studio. No factories, no mass production — just careful work and materials chosen with the same love you'd put into decorating your child's room yourself.
Each piece is shaped, painted, and assembled by Joanna. No two items are exactly the same — that's the point.
Colour palettes inspired by the world children deserve to see — bold, warm, joyful. Not the muted beige that forgets kids actually exist.
Non-toxic finishes and child-safe materials, chosen like you'd choose them yourself — because you'd never put something unsafe near a baby.
I make everything myself, so I'm always happy to talk about custom colours, sizing, or just chat about what you're envisioning for your little one's room. Reach out any time.

BOKETTO exists because mass-produced decor was never made with your child in mind. These pieces were.
